A wise friend of mine said, "You can never get to your future without honoring and respecting your past!" I have never forgotten those words. We have been so fortunate in our lifetime to share our home with some of the great ones -- companions that gave us a foundation, provided immeasurable moments of happiness, and will never be far from our hearts or souls. Triton, Nali, Emmie, Layloni, Be, Sadie, Turbo -- these are but some of those who touched so many! Enjoy our family and know they are helping us still to achieve the future we know is bright at Big Benz Akitas.

Again we thank everyone for the beautiful comments and memories of our precious Tequila Rose! This is a hard loss for all at Big Benz Akitas and for those who loved Tequila with us! Our precious Tequila crossed the rainbow bridge on August 8th, 2015 at almost 14 yrs. old. She had survived a bad bloat episode several years ago and we were able to have several more quality years with this precious soul. Words cannot express the deep hole that's in my heart. She was a breeder's dream and gave me everything she had. She had many big wins to add to her accolades but the best thing she ever did besides give us her love, was to give us our precious Johnnie, Tia Maria, and Asia. She was quite a character and had me with the first breathe she took -- I just knew she was destined not only for winning in the show ring, but also winning my heart! I know she is up in heaven running around waiting till we are together again! Be in peace my princess.

I just would like to thank everyone for all your heartfelt support in the loss of our Zoey!  Our precious Zoey crossed the rainbow bridge on January 12th 2011 at almost 10 yrs. old. She came back to us after her family was getting a divorce, and I'm so happy she did. She became our house dog and she has touched us with so many great times and laughs! She fell in love with my  husband (Dave) and one of our cats (Butternut) and dearest male companion Artie (littermate to our Mason).  When people would come visit they couldn't believe the bond that Butternut and Zoey shared. I'm sure he doesn't understand where she has gone. The house is quiet when you enter now and we miss hearing her thump as she would bound from our bed, which she slept in all day, with Butternut snuggled next to her, and would greet us with a squeaky toy in her mouth, wooing to us! We thought we would have more years with her, when suddenly she was taken from us. Time passes by us so quickly, so don't forget to let that special Akita know how much they mean to you.

Our beautiful Nali crossed the rainbow bridge on May 18th 2010 at 13 1/2 yrs. old. She was one of those bitches that every breeder dreams of. From finishing her Championship and producing multiple champions here and abroad. She loved being a mom and gave her heart and soul with each litter. When it came time for her to deliver her pups, she basically told us to move over because I have complete control from start to finish! She produced a litter of 14 and delivered them all natural and everyone of them made it. We laid both her and her son Triton to rest in the same week and it tore our hearts out. We miss you, our sweet Nali girl and may you and Triton run free together like you did here on earth.

We lost our beloved Triton on May 21, 2010. He was one of the great ones, always giving his heart and soul in the show ring, and to his family. His accomplishments never ceased to amaze us. Going Winner's dog, Best of Winner's and Best Opposite Sex at the 2000 National Specialty. He was a Best in Specialty Winner along with multiple group wins and an award of merit winner. He will never be forgotten and will always hold a special place in our hearts. We miss you Big Boy!

Emmie was a true champion in our hearts and her unique character and zest for life lives on forever with us all. We miss our girl and are thankful to have shared in her life.

Layloni finished her AKC Championship with 4 majors out of the Bred By Exhibitor Class. Her sweet Nature lives on in her children and grandchildren. She is the Dam of Ch. Big Benz Glory Be.
