Hi and
welcome to Big Benz Akitas. After I rescued Tasha
-- my first Akita and successfully rehomed her -- I
moved on with my career and with starting Big Benz
Akitas. My foundation bitch was our beloved Kimmy,
who lived to the ripe old age of 14 years. With Kimmy I
began my Akita showing career and breeding program.

Big Benz Akitas is a small kennel that
consistently tries to improve this wonderful breed,
generation after generation. We now have been involved
with Akitas for 30 years and look forward to the many
years yet to come. All of our Breeding stock is OFA'd on
hips, CERF'd on eyes, and Thyroid tested. We only
produce 1-2 litters per year, so therefore each breeding
is conscientiously thought out carefully for the next
generation to carry on for us. We are always critiquing
our dogs for temperament, health, and structure. We take
pride not only in the longevity and health of our dogs,
but also in their temperaments -- having produced
numerous Therapy dogs that work in hospitals and nursing
homes.
Our family consists of myself (Lynny), my husband
(Dave), and our tremendous daughters (Amanda and
Jolene). All of our dogs are wonderfully presented by
our daughter Jolene, who has won numerous Best Junior
Awards while competing in all breed and National
Specialty shows. We are a family dedicated to the love
of our Akitas. At the 2000 National Specialty, we were
told that no kennel had ever won so many awards as we
did that year.
We also are very involved with our local Rescue group,
called Akita Rescue of Western New York (ARWNY),
www.akitarescuewny.com, of which I am the president
and co-founder. Our group has now started the first ever
national senior surrender prevention program called
Akita-S.O.S. (Save Our Seniors). For more
information on our national program, please go to ARWNY's
Akita-S.O.S.

We
are members of the Akita Club of America, and stand
by their Code of Ethics.
We
stand behind all of our puppies with written
guarantees, and always are there to answer your
questions down the road.

would enjoy being a guardian angel and would just

We hope to meet you along this
path of ours to improve and protect the breed we so
love -- the AKITA
